Rather than leaving fans to wonder whether the “very special guest” was a pop star, a mascot, or a motivational speaker hired off the street, Chicago Bears head coach Ben Johnson simply invited baseball legend Derek Jeter to address the team at Halas Hall.
The former New York Yankees shortstop gave a pep talk focused on overcoming failure and shared stories from his career, following a highlight reel of his accomplishments shown to the squad.
The motivational visit coincided with Chicago’s 34-10 preseason victory over the Cleveland Browns. With starters resting, quarterbacks Tyson Bagent, Case Keenum, and Miller Moss split snaps during the win.
