In the breathless, never-ending carousel of the football transfer window, Aston Villa are clearing out the spare room before inviting a new guest in.
Serbian right-back Kosta Nedeljkovic, 20, is heading to Rangers on a season-long loan that includes a £4 million obligation to buy. Having managed just 10 competitive appearances for Villa since joining in January 2024, Nedeljkovic’s move north is designed to free up squad space for West Ham defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
Villa’s pursuit of Wan-Bissaka is understood to be at an advanced stage. West Ham, currently adjusting to life in the Championship following last season’s relegation, value the former Manchester United right-back at £25 million. Wan-Bissaka has not featured in West Ham’s matchday squads so far this campaign.
Unai Emery has prioritized signing experienced competition for first-choice right-back Matty Cash, and Nedeljkovic’s exit removes the final administrative hurdle to getting the deal across the line.
