If you were planning on taking your dog for a swim in Compton Acres, you will need to hold off. Warning notices have been put up around Kingfisher Pond and the nearby balancing pond off Broadstone Close after blue-green algae was spotted taking advantage of the recent sunshine.

Local councillor Hari Om confirmed that the Environment Agency has been notified, and precautionary signage has been posted around both water bodies—both of which happen to sit along popular dog-walking routes.
